Yesterday was the 2nd round of the GT Pro Series on a demanding track at Alton, USA. It was hard for our team to repeat the great triple podium of the season opener, because a lot of our drivers carried success ballast into the 2nd race of the season on the Virginia International Raceway.

First of all, we want to congratulate Andreas Jacky Schmich from MRS-SimRacing for his first win and of course the Swedish Simracers Rickard Nilsson and Conny Näslund for the podium finishes.

Now let's move to the race from our drivers:

In spite of the success ballast, Sascha Glatter was able to put the car on P2 in qualifying with 75 kilos. 2nd best of our team was Alex Bräutigam who reached 6th place with 70 kilos and Harald Bachmann qualified his car on P10.
The start was really tough because of the tight and challenging first sector, but it went very smoothly and without any major incidents. Sascha and Alex could maintain their positions, but Harald lost a lot of positions due to a bad start.
Patrick Baaden, who struggled a bit with tyre temperatures during qualifying (started on P15), had a good first part of the race and gained a lot of positions. Halfway through the race, our drivers made their pitstops. Sascha was in a good position to fight for the win, but unfortunately he made a really rare mistake at Snake (Turn 6), lost the car on a curb and crashed into the tyre barriers. He was able to continue, but in the end he finished on a frustrating 19th place!
Alex and Patrick were still able to get a good position for the team, but after their pitstops they lost a bit in traffic and struggled to pass cars (which still had to pit). However both of them did a great job to fight through the field and finally finished on a strong and satisfying 4th for Alex and 6th for Patrick. Congratulations for this performance!
Harald recovered from his bad initial phase with consistent pace and finished on a solid 12th place. Great job!
Our other two drivers James Duku (finished on P16) and Marius Nicolae (finished on P24), have had not the best day. It's really hard to get a good result, if you start from the back like Marius (missed the qualy) and from P21 for James. Hopefully both of you have more luck in the next race.

That's it, we wish our drivers good luck for the next race on the 2nd of may at Homestead-Miami.
