GT Pro Series - Round 8 (rFactor2)
Yesterday the 8th Round of the GT Pro Series (presented by Simracing United) took place and once again the destination was Spain, but this time Jerez. 8 drivers from Black Hawk Racing went to the start on the demanding course in southern Spain. Among them a new driver: BHR can be happy, to welcome Mike Horn and he should celebrate an impressive debut. At 8 pm, 25 drivers went to the qualifying and in fact, Mike Horn reached his first pole position. It was a superiorly and clear pole, after a slight nervous opening. By the way, the 6th pole in a row for BHR! The other starting positions: Alex Bräutigam P3, Markus Walter P9
As is well known, the start can result in accidents and also this time a BHR driver was involved in a Turn 1 incident. Patrick Baaden collided with a competitor and ended up in the gravel. All the other BHR driver came safely through the first corners, but Mike Horn lost the lead. He didn't get confused by that and started to put the leader under pressure. After 10 laps he was successful and regained the lead of the race. What followed next, was a strong, dominant and controlled performance. Nobody was able to manage his pace and finally he won his first race for BHR! Congratulations on this outstanding first appearance!
As in Valencia, Alex Bräutigam and Markus Walter were able to fight for a top 5 position. Despite maximum success weight, Alex just missed a place on the podium and finished 4th. His teammate Markus finished in 7th place and therefore they could increase their lead in the team standings.
Due to a qualifying ban, Sascha Glatter and Bernd Schmidt had to start form the back but both of them delivered a strong race, gained in each case 13 places and finished 8th and 12th.
Congratulations to the whole team, for this strong performance.
Here are the whole results:
