Ready to Race Get a Cockpit

Last sunday was round 17 of the championship at the Kentucky Speedway. Bernd missed the chance in his second qualy lap to improve his time and started from P11. Bernd caught a decent start and was able to fight for the top ten, an early caution, lap 11, changed then his strategy and he pitted, so everyone get a fresh set of tyres, but Bernd decided to not take fuel and have a lighter car for this stint, this worked out for the first laps, but due to a bit to aggressive driving Bernd stressed the tyres too much and there for he lost his opportunity. At his second pit stop he was a bit unlucky,

he left his pit stall and exactly in this moment a caution came out, thats one of the worst situations you can have, cause you loose more time under a green flag stop. Bernd knew now its time for another strategy to make it possible for a top 10 result at the end of the race. After this caution he started more chilled into the stint, so he was able to get a long stint on this set of tyres and two more stops til the end are planed. After his last stop he came out on P15 and the gap to P10 wasn't to big with around 22 laps to go. Now he used the maximum of the tyres and the lighter car, he was able to cut through the traffic and made his way through and he gained a lot of time and at the end he made it possible with this strategy change to climb back on P10. After the race Bernd has had time for a short statement: "Well it was a great race and blast of fun to drive the car here today, also the fights against the other drivers was all the time hard but fair and i'm really happy with P10 today, now let's focus for the final round in one week." We're also happy about this result cause it was the 5th time in his very first Nascar season that he finished in the top 10. Next sunday, December 17th, is the final round of the season at the Pocono Raceway.
