Last sunday was round 13 of the championship at the Phoenix International Raceway. Bernd didn't catched a good lap during Qualifying and started the race from P14. He told us that wouldn't be his race cause he doesn't feel comfortable here on the track and seeing the chequered flag would be the goal for the race. An early caution changed his strategy and at the end, that wasn't the best decission. During the race he found his pace and he was able to be consistant and get into a rhythm. In lap 55 he got a slight kiss at the rear from a backmarker which costs him one position
but fortunate he was able to catch the car without a spun or contact with the wall. He did longer stints and most of the other drivers which brought him into the top 10 for some laps, but as mentioned above, it shouldn't be the best strategy. After his last pitstop, he drove out of the pits and a causion came out, this was really unfortunate for him, cause after the restart he had drivers in front of him which was on older tyres and so he lost his opportunity with the new set of tyres and had a harder fight through the field and wasn't able to catch some more positions. At the end of the race Bernd finished on P15, he was satisfied with that result, after the last races which has ended in such a bad way. Next sunday, November 19th, is round 14 at the Homestead Miami Speedway.
