Ready to Race Get a Cockpit

Yesterday was time for the third round of the DSTM with race 5 and 6 at Spa Francorchamps. It was the first time for Patrick and Bernd driving the Ferrari F488 in the DSTM and both said before the race that should be a succesful evening, let's see what they've done. After the Qualifying it was a good result, Patrick was able to get P3 and Bernd mastered his best Quali result with P7. The conditions for race 1 was good in terms of temperatures but the heavy folk was a bit of a challenge. Both drivers catched a perfect start, Patrick defended P3 and Bernd was able to find himself on P5 after the Eau Rouge,

in Lap 3 Nils Carstensen from RSO made the move at the end of the Kemmel Straight and overtooked Bernd, but Bernd was able to stay close to Carstensen and Kiewitt from Team Heusinkveld. At the end of race 1 Patrick finished on P3 behind Miesen from Piranha-SimRacing and T. Czerny from RSO, Bernd finished behind Carstensen and Kiewitt then on P6. That means Patrick started from P10 into race 2 and Bernd was starting out of the pits, due to his penalty. The daytime changed also for race 2, so we've had a night race, which was very interesting. Patrick has had a decent start into the second race and was able to get some places in the early laps of the race, also Bernd was able to go a perfect race in this night conditions and found himself after 3 laps on P29. Then in lap 4 Bernd saw his chance to get the next position at the end of the Kemmel Straight, so he was braking late and unfortunate it was a bit too late, he overshot the Apex and Simon Ehses from GTTempel Racing doesnt saw him and they made contact. This ended in a barrol roll for Bernd and 13Min repair time, fortunate Simon's car wasn't that bad damaged. Bernd was really angry about himself and he felt sorry for Simon. Meanwhile Patrick made his way through the top 10 and was able to fight again for a spot on the podium. With a good strategy and an decent pace Patrick managed it to finish race 2 again on P3 behind Miesen from Piranha-SimRacing and Schallenberg from RSO, Bernd finished after his long stop on P35. With this great results from Patrick in both races and one great race from Bernd we're looking forward to the next race in 2 weeks, October 2nd, at Watkins Glen.
